Skechers Kicks Off Summer with a Bang, Nadine Lustre and Gerald Anderson fashion show

While sneakerheads were chasing hypebeasts and spending hundreds of thousands to get a limited edition pair of sneakes, another trend that dominated the world of footwear last year was the “ugly fashion trend” and 90’s retro.

And there seems to be no signs of slowing down as chunky sneakers continue to be a hot item in the fashion world today. As seen in the recently concluded 2019 F/W runway shows in Paris and New York, chunky kicks were a part of every designer’s collection, proving that it’s still a must-have today and for the coming season. And the bigger, the better!

For its fourth year, Skechers’ Move In Style continues to serve something fresh and exciting. This time, combining the heritage, chunky kicks, and modern street style as the brand launched the latest from its iconic D’Lites collection with a “Bang”!

For the Skechers D’Lites x Bang collaboration, he curated custom pieces to style with Skechers D’Lites originals and D’Lites 3.0 for an exciting capsule collection that is a combination of heritage, modern fashion and pure attitude.

Bang Pineda, who has made a name for himself in the local streetwear scene by churning out daring and Avant-garde looks, is also a highly sought after stylist of the biggest celebrities and influential personalities in the country for his signature modern, edgy aesthetic.

Both releases from the D’Lites collection are featured in an unprecedented fashion collaboration with celebrity stylist and streetwear designer Bang Pineda as the highlight of this year’s runway show.

The Skechers x Bang Pineda collaboration features three style themes inspired by the hottest trends this season: Denim for Days; with denim-inspired apparel paired with neutral-colored D’Lites, After Dark; showing offhead to toe black and white ensembles, and Color Me Bad, which is all about, you guessed it! vibrant, bold colors, combined with equally colorful statement D’Lites.

The exclusive pieces found in the collaboration made their debut at the Skechers’Move In Style fashion show held last week at the REVEL, and were worn by Skechers ambassadors Gerald Anderson and Nadine Lustre.

Taken from its 90’s archive collection, Skechers D’Lites originals has been all the rage since it was launched months ago to much fanfare along with a huge campaign featuring the brand’s newest face, Nadine Lustre. This summer’s Move In Style event sees Skechers releasing the extremely popular kicks in eye-catching new colorways and patterns. On top of that, the brand is also officially unveiling a new heritage influenced sneaker from the D’Lites line with a modern and even chunkier take, the D’Lites 3.0.

Swaggering an updated edgier and heftier silhouette, the new Skechers D’Lites 3.0 offers an added height and a bolder look with a distinctively street vibe. With varied styles and colorways for both men and women to choose from, these killer kicks can mix and match with your personal style. And despite its chunky look, is surprisingly lightweight and comfortable to wear thanks to memory foam cushioning on the insole, just like the D’Lites originals.

Being the ‘originator’ of chunky and funky sneakers since the ‘90s, Skechers has helped define the pop culture of an entire generation with its sneaker icons. Today, the brand continues to push the boundaries—unafraid to take on different styles, collaborations, and evolving the fashion scene while staying true to its heritage.

With Move In Style 2019 showcasing its D’Lites heritage line’s hybrid designs that fuses authentic vintage elements and contemporary street fashion, Skechers continues to impress by delivering something fresh and trendy to the table.
