Sheryn Regis brave comeback for a series of CF Shows

Much like her emotional hit song “Coming out of the Rain” an emotional Sheryn Regis recounted her fear of losing her voice after surgery.

Sheryn met with the entertainment press recently and shared the struggles she went through during that time.

“It was thyroid cancer and I had to undergo surgery. It was crucial for me kasi pag tinanggal, alam mo ba maaring (taamaan) yun nerves. Pwede ako mawalan ng boses, sobrang it was really bad. ‘Di ko lang sinabi agad-agad sa inyo, akala ko kasi baka pagsabihin ko na ganun, wala nang bibilib sa akin na makakanta pa ako. The last time I sang, it was with Jonalyn, it was in 2016, hirap na hirap ako, ‘di ko lang sinabi talaga na kaka-surgery ko lang noon. I had to sing,” she said.

“After the surgery hindi ako pwede kumanta for 6 months. My faith really helped me a lot.

“Actually noong sinabi ng doctor na bawal pero … binirit ko pa din. Kaya ko pa naman. Napapagod ako, katawan lang, hindi ang voice.”

The singer, known for belting out tunes, admitted that the surgery has affected her her voice range.

“Naapektuhan siya ng konti. Pero ok na, pero mabilis lang ako mapagod. I’m so thankful to God and sa support ng family and friends na kundi dahil sa kanila, di ko kaya.”

She also said she is currently cancer free but is taking some medication for life

“I hope so. I think I am cancer-free. Siyempre I always have routine check-ups, I underwent radiation therapy.”

Known as the Crystal Voice of Asia, Sheryn is back in the Philippines for a series of shows and guest appearances. She is set to do several shows at CF PAGCOR with the theme “La MusiKandia” (A Celebration of Mystical Music) on the following dates: October 9, 2019 (CF Angeles), October 11, 2019 (CF Olongapo), October 16, 2019 (CF Parkmall), October 19, 2019 (CF Cebu), October 23, 2019 (CF Bacolod), and October 25, 2019 (CF Manila Bay). Special thanks to E-Talent International and Live Artist Productions.

She has been granted her US citizenship last year after a ten-year residency in Houston, Texas with her family. Sheryn said she is excited to reunite with her family, her friends and most especially to her loyal fans who have been supportive of her even when she left the Philippines in 2010.

Sheryn Regis, born and raised in Cebu, remains to be the pride of the Filipinos not only in the Philippines but across the globe. Sheryn rose to fame during the first season of ABS-CBN’s “Star in A Million” in 2003. She released multi-awarded studio albums and various hit songs under the wing of her first and current manager, Annabelle Regalado Borja, who was then the head of Star Recording, Inc. who is now based in Australia.

Sheryn has popularized various hit songs such as “Come In Out of the Rain”, “Maybe”, “Follow your Dream”, “Ang Pag-ibig Kong ito”, “Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka” to name a few. She was tagged as the original Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs in ABS-CBN programs like Marina, Gulong ng Palad, Maria Flordeluna, Nagmamahal Kapamilya, Prinsesa ng Banyera, Kampanerang Kuba, and many more.

The love for music and the passion in singing excite Sheryn to continue what she does best even when she resides in the US. She spreads her wings in doing solo concerts and collaboration projects in the United States and Canada. She ventured as host in “Chit Chat Houston”, first Asian TV show airing in Channel KUBE 57. She is also a part-time teacher in a pre-kindergarten to middle school students in Texas since she graduated with the degree of Bachelor in Secondary Education, Major in English.

Sheryn says she misses home, her family and her career in the Philippines so she makes the effort of visiting the country once in a while. This is her first come-back after her US citizenship granted.

As Sheryn turns 40 this November and as she celebrates 16 years in show business, she wants to make this short come-back visit memorable – be with the people who matter most to her and sing her heart out to her fans and to her Philippine audience

An exciting SHERYN REGIS awaits us in 2020 with a new single and series of concerts all over the world.
