It’s that time of the year for Reader’s Digest to recognize the most trusted brands in the Philippines. Despite the enhanced community quarantine as the country and the rest of the world fight the battle against the new coronavirus (COVID-19), the syndicated general-interest family magazine is still set to present this year’s list in a traditional annual ceremony that will be scheduled upon the lifting of the lockdown.
Now on its 22nd year, Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Awards will again recognize more than a hundred local brands and personalities from 50 various consumer categories and industries. The list will be based on results of an independent commissioned poll conducted research firm Catalyst Research, which tapped into the views of over 8000 people across the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Random consumers’ impressions on brands were gauged on six key attributes—trustworthiness, quality, value, understanding of customers’ needs, innovation, and social responsibility. The results are published in the April 2020 edition of Reader’s Digest.
“Over the years, the Trusted Brands survey has served as a significant benchmark in various industries, with its capability to identify the brands and services, as well as personalities, consumers trust the most,” said Reader’s Digest Asia-Pacific Retail and Advertising Sales Director Sheron White.
Most trusted personalities
Just like in the previous years, one of the highlights of the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands 2020 is the list of most trusted personalities in four important categories—Most Trusted News Presenter, Most Trusted Radio Presenter, Most Trusted Variety/ Entertainment Presenter, and Most Trusted Sportsperson.
Jessica Soho returns as winner for the Most Trusted TV Host/Presenter for News and Current Affairs category. The broadcast journalist was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2019 for the category after winning the award for eight consecutive years prior. Fellow GMA Network anchor Mike Enriquez bagged the Most Trusted Radio Presenter this year. Meanwhile, Vice Ganda and Manny Pacquiao are still the Most Trusted Entertainment and Variety Presenter and the Most Trusted Sports Personality, respectively.
Interesting times
Aside from the challenges of the pandemic, the 22nd Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Awards is also more special this year as it comes just a few months after the magazine mounted its first-ever Quality Service Awards in February.
The Most Trusted Brand Awards recognizes the confidence companies have built among their customers based on satisfaction, trust, and innovation, while the Quality Service Awards rewards businesses for providing outstanding service to customers.
