Cool Design. Serious Sound Quality.
This new entrant in the portable speaker market is definitely out to make a BOLD statement.
“We don’t believe that the world needs another premium speaker brand, but needs something that delivers good design: Simple, engaging, playful and personality without trying too hard—at a fair price. We want to be the countertrend to over-premiumization,” was how NUDE AUDIO Chief Creative Officer Peter Riering-Czekalla explained the rationale of the new-generation audio brand, in one published interview.
“It’s as much about what we decided not to do, as it is about what we chose to do. In order to deliver premium products at affordable prices, our approach is all about focusing on what matters most: streamlined features and functionality, aesthetic simplicity and prioritizing acoustics over marketing, ” adds CEO Tom Dudderidge.
NUDE AUDIO M
Its the simplicity and cleanliness of design that will get your attention when you first see a NUDE AUDIO MOVE bluetooth speaker. The MOVE in fact reminded me of a bar of soap tied on a rope, which isn’t a bad thing since it can both easily blend in with your other gadgets at home but would easily stand out when you bring it outdoors.
The Nude Audio Move comes in light grey/green and dark grey/coral red combination and is available in three sizes/variants S, M, and L.
Located on one side are four soft rubber buttons for power, volume control and Bluetooth pairing button beside the mic hole since it can also be used to answer phone calls, putting the speaker into hands-free talk mode. Turn it around to find a Micro USB port and a 3.5mm auxiliary input for non-Bluetooth devices.
According to the manufacturers the Move M is a bit larger than other portable Bluetooth to give it a larger acoustic chamber, giving sound greater space in which to resonate to produce more emphatic bass than what you’d expect from a portable mono speaker, and for most hard bass tracks and EDM hits, it actually proves true!
The rounded square-shaped Move M measures about 4” x 4” made of a thick silicone material which should protect the speaker from the usual bumps. You can easily attach the Move to your bag or bike or wherever using the thick rope.
Just as its simple looks, pairing the Move M is also very simple, all you have to do is press the Bluetooth button until it blinks which notifies you that it is ready for pairing. Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile phone or music player and tap Nude Audio, to connect, and you’re all set.
Sound quality is really quite surprising considering its size, I like how it dishes out a deep bass but doesn’t distort or mess up the quality at high volumes. The treble is also quite clean and impressive, and you wont find a better quality speaker at its price. Thought it would have been better though if the volume could be a bit louder since it is after all an outdoor speaker. Battery life is around 10 hours plus making it perfect to carry throughout the day.
During the launch event the Move speakers were even thrown around by a couple of jugglers but the sound quality never changed despite being shaken and thrown up in the air.
