Building on the global success of the first premium Dual LTE sim Android phone with fingerprint sensor – Huawei Mate7, the luxurious successor Huawei Mate S flaunts a 2.5D floating screen that is 5.5 inches long on a dual diamond-cut, all metal body measuring 2.65 milimeters at its thinnest point.
“The Huawei Mate S is designed to offer a personalized experience. This is developed based on insights about human interaction where touch plays a huge role. The Huawei Mate S redefines how we incorporate touch technology into our smartphones, ushering in a new era for human-machine interaction,” said Charles Wu, consumer device head of Huawei Philippines.

Redefining human-machine interaction
True to its word, the Mate S features captivating touch-based innovations. Sitting perfectly on the rear of the handset, Fingerprint Sense 2.0 sensor not only lets users to unlock the phone and secure payment applications, but also control notifications, scroll through photos, take selfies, answer phone calls and even dismiss an alarm.
An upgraded version of the Huawei Mate 7’s advanced chip level security and single-tap unlock technology. Fingerprint Sense 2.0 is faster, more sensitive and has more accurate self-learning functions to improve recognition speeds by 100%.

Another twist on touch is the smartphone’s Knuckle Sense 2.0, first introduced in the Huawei P8, which provides a host of new features and functionality at the tap or trace of a knuckle.
Through the feature, users can easily switch between apps by drawing or tracing a shortcut letter on the screen. Pre-programmed shortcuts include drawing a ‘c’ to activate the camera, ‘m’ to listen to music, or ‘e’ to surf the internet. Users can also create their own personalized knuckle shortcuts for anything from Album to Viber, WeChat or WhatsApp.

The Knuckle Sense 2.0 also makes freehand copying and cropping of an image out of a photo possible by just outlining the image with a knuckle. Saving favorite snippets from a video can be done by simply double tapping on a scene with a knuckle, and then share or save.

Redefining design
The smartphone’s design may look unconventional but it strikes a balance between a phone’s brilliant capabilities and its stunning visual appearance. The Huawei Mate S features a full metal shell, a 5.5-inch AMOLED FHD screen with 2.5D Gorilla Glass and side edges at 2.65 mm.

The curved back of the Huawei Mate S features nanometer injection modeling which results in a smooth, sensuous feel. Excellent craftsmanship is responsible for the smartphone’s seamless metal body, developed through diamond cutting, CNC carving, nanotechnology and a sapphire lens.

“The Huawei Mate S does not only capitalize on the power of touch in its technology, it also indulges our sense of touch through its ergonomic design,” Wu said.

Recording functions are brought to the next level as Huawei Mate S uses directive reception technology. This new hardware design operates three built-in microphones with a smart directional algorithm, enabling clear recording with minimal background noise.

The microphones provide enhanced support for directive reception including interview mode (180-degree recording), meeting mode (all-direction recording) and regular mode.

For business people who need to go through hundreds of documents a day, the flagship phone supports wireless printing through the Mopria general protocol. This alliance includes over 800 printer types across 16 leading brands, allowing users to print anywhere.

For those who have to be connected all the time, the Huawei Mate S features dual SIM (4G + GSM), which supports 13 mainstream LTE frequencies covering Europe, Asia Pacific and the US.
