New player Royal Air aims to be the airline of choice of practical travellers

“It’s expensive so it must be worth it.” And “You get what you pay for.”

We often use these phrases to justify paying high prices for everything from coffee to gadgets, to cars. High price must mean high value, and going for cheaper options often leads to disappointments, Right? 

Especially when it comes to airfare—and flight delays, small seat spaces and the lack of entertainment options are just some of the things you just have to accept.

But why settle when you have other practical options?

Royal Air, one of the newest player in the airline industry, doesn’t promise the cheapest fares but instead offers competitive prices compared to their local counterparts.

During the airline’s media launch held last May 17 at Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati, CEO of Royal Air Philippines Ed Novillas, said they aim to be the Philippines’ fastest growing airline, officially announced five additional domestic flights to and from Cebu.

The inaugural flight from Cebu to Manila and vice-versa began May 20 as wells as flights from Cebu to Davao, Puerto Princesa, Cagayan de Oro, and Caticlan. Flights from Clark, Pampanga to Lal-lo, Cagayan, on the other hand, began operating last May 22. This is in addition to the airline’s current flights from Clark to Caticlan and Puerto Princesa.

The Cebu to Manila flight is the first for the Clark-based airline, which is quite a milestone as it is very difficult to get a slot in Manila.

Besides lower airfare, Royal Air prides itself for its quality flight service—from a smooth check in and boarding experience– and an in-flight entertainment experience comparable to the top airlines. 

Royal Air has partnered with Sapphire to bring the Next Generation of In-Flight Entertainment to travelers. Royal Air started out as an air charter service in 2002 and debuted in the commercial operations market just in December of 2018 through its inaugural flight Clark to Caticlan.

The boutique-type airline is able to offer more competitive prices due to being located in Clark which means that they pay fewer taxes that translates lower fares.

Besides more Manila flights, Royal Air has also set its eyes on offering international flights from Clark to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, and Singapore flights.
