Next to the Christmas holidays, the next most anticipated event in the country is the Chinese New Year because of its year—long impact on many Filipino lives. It hardly matters that it is not even Filipino in origin; the Lunar New Year has become a reason for celebration in this country and wherever there’s a Chinese community.
Many say it is because of feng shui, with the accompanying belief that what one does on the first day of the Chinese New Year will affect one’s luck prospects for the rest of the year. This early, people are eagerly awaiting the predictions for the coming year and the suggestions on how to make 2015 a better year, especially those who went through certain challenges in the Year of the Wood Horse.
International feng shui master Marites Allen, for one, is all set for all the media buzz waiting to happen around the Chinese New Year. Dubbed “The Feng Shui Queen of the Philippines” for giving a face to feng shui practice in the country, Marites recently announced that she will be conducting the 2015 Feng Shui Updates for the Year of the Wood Sheep on December 27, 2014 at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.
Marites is the first and only Filipina to be awarded the prestigious title ”Master in Feng Shui” by the world-renowned International Feng Shui Association. She has trained in different schools of feng sh ui under respected mentors from
Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and China.
The December event will be the first of many Feng Shui Updates that she will conduct in the Philippines. It is the biggest gathering of feng shui aficionados in the Philippines and nearby Asian cities. Participants get to learn not only general prospects for the year, but also forecasts on career, relationships, health, and many life aspects for each Chinese zodiac animal sign. Top- quality luck enhancers, including the unique line of auspicious fashion labelled Frigga Charmed Life, will also be available for sale during the event.
A much sought-after resource person on feng shui-related subjects, the London—based Marites will also hold Meet and Greet sessions in major malls where she provides free public lectures and consultations. She is also a regular presence in many private residences and offices where she holds annual feng shui audits.
On January 17, 2015, Marites will conduct Annual Feng Shui Updates in Tokyo, then in London on January 22 and 25. This will be followed by a series of Chinese New Year events and mall tours in the Philippines from January 28 to February 20. She will later meet her European followers on March 2 (Sweden), March 3 (Denmark), March 7 (Oslo, Norway), and March 8 (Kristian Sand, Norway).
Similar talks are also being set in the US on March 28-29 (Guam), April 2 (Las Vegas), April 6 (San Francisco), and April 11 (New York).
