J.CO sells over 30 million donuts in less than a year


12 stores, 12 months, and over 30 millions donuts sold.

That pretty much sums up just how successful J.CO Donuts & Coffee is in the Philippines, as it sells an average of 13,000 donuts daily– and the long lines never seem to shorten.

The 12th branch is found along the newly reconstructed Glorietta 2, across the corner of SM Makati and Park Square, it hosts a spacious 236-sq.meter corner location, where customers are given the liberty to dine and chat with one another, through its wrap-around al fresco-dining spots on both of its store fronts.
Gracing the event was Ms. Gita Herdi, the Marketing Director of the Johnny Andrean Group, who flew in from Indonesia, to warmly welcome the guests. Ms. Herdi explained to guests how much she had appreciated the overwhelming response the Filipino market had for the brand, opening 12 branches on their first 12 months in the Philippines only shows how fond Filipinos have become of their donuts and coffees.

Also there to welcome media guests were Mr. Oszen Chan, President of the Contemporain Foods Inc. (CFI), Mr. Carlos Chan, Chairman Emeritus of CFI, Mr. Edgar Sia, Stockholder of CFI, Ms. Natasia Liu, International Franchise Officer for J.CO, along with the stockholder Mr. Antonio Co, and the Indonesian Ambassador to the Philippines, Mr. Y. Kristiarto S. Legowo.

The event was hosted by Magic 89.9’s Sam YG, and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and Ateneo Volleyball Player, Robi Domingo and Gretchen Ho. Media guests participated in a celebrity round of J.CO Donut Trivia, where Team Robi battled their wits against Team Gretchen, in their efforts to see who knows their J.CO donuts the best.

A buffet of donuts was also served to the guests, featuring their 12 best selling donuts such as the, Alcapone, Oreology, Tiramisu, Avocado Di Caprio, Mr. Green Tea, Why Nut, Blue Berrymore, Don Mochino, Choco Caviar Chocolate, Jcoccino, Coco Loco, Heaven Berry, and Green Tease.

As if the donuts itself were not enough as a reward, three media winners also took home with them a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, which was personalized and specially made to have automatic Wi-Fi access in all J.CO stores nationwide.

The program also awarded 12 lucky J.CO fanatics who have shown their support for the brand all throughout, from its first opening in SM Megamall up to today.

With J.CO’s unique flavors and quirky names, it is to no wonder how they have been able to open 12 stores on their first 12 months. There is for sure more to come with J.CO, as they are already planning their future outlets to open in Araneta Center, UPIS Katipunan Ave., UN Ave., SM Southmall, Greenhills, and General Santos City. With 30 million donuts sold, the J.CO Donuts & Coffee chain has surely grown to be one of the fastest growing donut and coffee chains in the country and is expected to grow even faster in the upcoming year.
