Celebrity socialite Paris Hilton arrived in Manila at around 10:00 aboard Emirates Airways flight EK334 for a five-day stay.
In her tweet prior to her flight, Hilton said, “Had the best time of my life in Ibiza! So sad to leave, but also excited to go to the Philippines for the first time.” This was shortly followed by “Hi everyone in the Philippines. I’m coming out there and I’m really excited to see you all and also excited doing a very exciting project there.”
The hotel heiress will be in the country to work with real estate firm Century Properties in designing the central amenity of one of its landmark projects, and visit her newly-opened store at SM Megamall.
She is likewise expected to pay a courtesy call to President Benigno Aquino 3rd as well as boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao.
From fashion to property design
Hilton will be in a private meeting with Century Properties’ creative and design team during her first couple of days followed by a media conference and photoshoots for her endorsements of Azure.
The star of the reality TV series “The World According to Paris,” Hilton was chosen to design the Beach Club amenity of Azure Urban Resort Residences, Century Properties’ six-hectare residential development south of Manila. It features a resort-inspired theme complete with a sizable man-made beach.
According to Century Properties chief operating officer John Victor Antonio, they chose Hilton because of her unparalleled style that made her a successful businesswoman and a style icon. “She also has the zest for living the good life, which are the qualities that we would like to incorporate into our vacation-inspired residential property.” Antonio said in a previous news interview.
“With her exposure to the best beaches around the world, coupled with her fun and sensible fashion sense, we believe that we’ve made the right choice in partnering with someone who appreciates urban resort style living and who can lend a world-class touch to Azure,” he added.
Hilton on her part said in a statement that she looked forward to working with Century Properties and will personally help design The Azure Beach Club, to create “a unique and special place that will bring happiness to many people.”
The real estate company has also launched Facebook contest at https://www.facebook.com/CenturyPropertiesOfficial where five fans will get a chance to sit at the VIP table during Hilton’s exclusive press conference.
Malling in Manila
Paris is also expected to grace the opening of her Parish Hilton signature shop in SM Megamall on Thursday, August 18, 2011.
Reports say this will be the only stop of the hotel chain heiress and fashion designer. Fans who purchase of a Paris Hilton bag will have the chance to meet Hilton in the flesh.
The new branch will be the fourth Paris Hilton shop in the country. The other existing stores are in Robinson Place and Newport City Mall, both in Manila and at the Abreeza Mall in Davao City.
There are 31 Paris Hilton signature stores around the world.
Hilton first announced that she was visiting the Philippines in May, when she dropped by the victory party of Manny Pacquiao after he defeated Shane Mosley in Las Vegas, Nevada.
