THE ART OF LA MIEN AT THE MAKATI SHANGRI-LA


Makati Shangri-La, Manila invites guests to experience an authentic Chinese dining affair this month as the hotel welcomes guest chef Sun Yi Li from Shangri-La’s Golden Flower Hotel in Xian, China. Chef Li is on a Philippine tour to introduce the art of La Mien, also known as pulling noodle, from March 15 to 25, 2011 at Circles Event Café.

Guests will be mesmerized by the unique and artistic method of La Mien, a special type of hand-pulled noodle used as a main ingredient for a variety of Chinese dishes. Experience a unique epicurean event as Chef Li demonstrates his expertise in La Mien, which meticulously involves stretching the dough repeatedly until it produces strands of thin and long noodles.
