Opening Pandora’s box

IN Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman on earth. Zeus had ordered Hephaestus, the god of craftsmanship, to create her. And he did—using water and earth—and the gods endowed her with many talents. Aphrodite gave her beauty, Apollo music, Hermes persuasion, and so forth. Hence her name: Pandora, which meant “all-gifted.”

But we all know the story: Pandora was given a box and was warned not to open it. But because of her curiosity, she opens it and unleashes all sorts of evil in the world, leaving the one thing, which lay at the bottom: Hope.
Fast forward to modern times, the name Pandora remains “all-gifted” although it has now become synonymous with a world-renowned brand of high quality jewelry store.
The company opened its first concept store at the second level of Greenbelt 5 in Makati City, but instead of releasing sorts of evil, it brought out three lovely goddesses—goddess of fame Anne Curtis, style goddess Liz Uy and beauty goddess Georgina Wilson—to represent the brand and give more hope to style-troubled women.
Lucerne Managing Director Emerson Yao said they were pleased to offer Pandora jewelry to their discerning customers. “We’re optimistic that Filipinas everywhere will find a piece to match their taste and lifestyle.”
Anders Peter Juel Sauerberg, managing director of Norbreeze Group and distributor for Pandora said they were excited to collaborate with Lucerne to bring Pandora to the Philippines. “Our vision is to help women stand out by expressing their individuality and personal style through our universe of high quality, genuine and affordable jewelry pieces,” he adds.
“One of the things I like about Pandora is the opportunity to personalize your own jewelry,” states Uy one of the most famous stylists in the country. “Being able to mix and match pieces lets you create a personal look for any occasion. You can even blend casual and formal to capture the mood of the moment,” she said.
Model Georgina Wilson on the other hand said she believes Pandora will appeal to all women because it mixes traditional elements with new trends from fashion, colors, patterns and designs.
The Philippines is the latest market to welcome Pandora, which designs, manufactures and markets hand-finished and modern jewelry made of genuine materials at affordable prices. The successful Danish global brand has been making its mark on international jewelry fashion for more than 25 years, and has become known for its high standards, craftsmanship, quality and design.
Among its most popular pieces of jewelry is its charm bracelet, which can be combined with many different charms, and small pendants in many shapes, all in genuine silver or gold. It’s a bracelet you design yourself. So whether you choose a simple heart, a brilliant gem, an initial, a chubby teddy bear or another icon, the result is always personal and distinctive.
